ACC and Withholding Tax

Whether you work alone or you employ staff, you need to meet ACC obligations to ensure you and your employees are covered if an accident occurs. We can help make sure you’ve got the right cover in place, and liaise with ACC over invoices, applications and reassessments.


Resident Withholding Tax (RWT):

RWT is managed by the Client Account Managers (CAMs) as part of their duties, which includes filing returns and completing annual reconciliations. CAMs ensure that RWT is handled appropriately in compliance with tax obligations.

 

Withholding Tax (WT):

The HR team is responsible for handling WT as part of payroll processes. This primarily involves managing WT for industries such as Kiwifruit growers and occasionally for contractors, such as builders. WT is applied to payments made to contract labour, ensuring correct tax withholding in these specific cases.
